We all love ABC’s classic series, The Goldbergs, don’t we? Well, an extension of this timeless sitcom is Schooled. The settings are essentially the same but we do have a bit of change in the latter. While The Goldbergs is set in the 80s, the events of Schooled take place in the 90s. And Schooled manages to stand up to its expectations, especially because of its stellar cast and counts as a good-natured situational comedy.

The story revolves around Lainey Lewis (Erica’s best friend) and follows her journey after she returns to Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. She lands the job of a music teacher at the William Penn Academy. Well, this sets off a chain of events, mainly within the school, that account for the multiple humorous elements in the show.

Schooled Season 2 Episode 18 Recap

In episode 18, Coach Mellor converses with Lainey and convinces her to drive down to Altoona and reconcile with her mum, Deb. The mother-daughter duo has been in an estranged relationship for several years now. When Lainey reaches her mum’s place, she is happy to know that the latter is no longer an addict and has sobered down.

What hits Lainey is the fact that Deb has been sober for five years, but she had never once tried to contact her daughter. On the other hand, at school, Wilma is super excited and overjoyed when the genius Caroline is put in the robotics team. However, things take a complicated turn when Wilma discovers that Caroline is a know-it-all who never cooperates with her teammates.
