The fourth episode of ‘The Outsider’ is titled ‘Que Viene El Coco’, which translates to “The bogeyman is coming”. According to Spanish folklore, the Coco is a monster that eats children. From what is going on in the adaptation of the Stephen King book, it looks like we do have a bogeyman walking around Cherokee.
What begins with the gruesome murder of Frankie Peterson, leads to the arrest and then death of Terry Maitland, a Little League coach who has his prints all over the case along with a solid alibi to prove that he had nothing to do with it. As conflicting evidence continues to show up, a fresh set of eyes is needed to look over it and find out what could have been previously missed by the cops. Terry’s lawyer suggests the name of Holly Gibney, a PI who is closely familiar with the unexplainable. Her investigation leads to a discovery that opens up another confounding possibility for the case.

The Outsider Episode 4 Spoilers
With the arrival of Holly Gibney, the investigation picks up speed. While Anderson and the others try to make sense of the evidence that doesn’t provide a concrete theory for anything, she goes to Dayton to retrace Terry’s steps and find out how that white van ended up in Cherokee. She tries to dig up security footage, but of course, with so much time passed, it is a long shot. So, she turns to another direction and checks up on Terry’s father. This is where she comes to know about another case that sounds a lot like Frankie Peterson’s.
In the next episode, we expect Holly to find out more about what happened to the Williams sisters and how that connects to Frankie Peterson. The most important thing here is the timeline. When exactly did it happen and how it connects to Terry’s father are some of the questions that need to be figured out if they have to get to the bottom of Terry’s mystery. In ‘Dark Uncle’, we see that a man has already been convicted for the murder of the girls and is serving time in prison. After being threatened by another man, he kills himself.
It is expected that just as Holly is a PI investigating Terry’s case, there must have been someone else who looked into this man’s case as well. Holly would meet with Andy Katcavage and find out more similarities between their cases. This could also lead to some new details surfacing and, together, they could connect the dots and find out exactly what happened to these children.
