Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire (Tina Fey) have been married a long time. But time has also taken a toll on their love life. When they discover that their best friends are getting divorced, Phil and Claire decide to spice things up. Phil plans to take Claire on a date to a posh restaurant. While the evening begins to get romantic, things go terribly awry for the couple as they get entangled in the mess of drug dealers and corrupt cops.
4. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016)
Kim Baker (Tina Fey) is fed up with her life as a journalist who covers low-profile stories. Wanting some excitement and better opportunities, she becomes a short-term war correspondent in Afghanistan. There she not only gets the first-hand experience of the lives of the locals and the soldiers but also befriends other journalists who are more experienced than her. The thrill of the danger soon gets to her. And she is left questioning her decisions about her life and career.
3. Saturday Night Live
This show is the goldmine that has been the alma mater of the majority of comedians, actors, and writers, among other things. Tina Fey, too, started out from ‘SNL’ and substantiated her position as a writer, as an actress and as a comedian. Her chemistry with her co-hosts, her impeccable comic timing, and poison-dart sarcasm got her a lot of fan following. ‘Saturday Night Live’ provided her with a platform to open up to the showbiz and polish her raw skills.
2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015- present)
This critically acclaimed Netflix show might not have Tina Fey in the leading role, but it wouldn’t be possible without her. Serving as the creator of the show, and appearing in recurring roles, Fey has delivered another amazing piece of work. Kimmy Schmidt was fifteen when she was kidnapped by a local Reverend (Jon Hamm) who convinced her, and other girls he had kidnapped, that they were the only ones who had survived doomsday. 15 years later, after she escapes her captor, Kimmy Schmidt decides to start over her life.
1. 30 Rock (2006- 2013)
Inspired by her experiences at ‘Saturday Night Live’, Tina Fey created a show that revolves around the life of the head writer of a comedy sketch series. Liz Lemon is a ‘know it all’ who often finds herself in a conflict with her network executive Jack Donaghy’s (played by Alec Baldwin) conservative views. The show focuses on the personal and professional lives of Liz and her co-workers. It is a satire that takes the other shows into account, especially NBC, and the whole of the entertainment industry. ‘30 Rock’ was received well critically, and Tina Fey was singled out for both, her acting and her writing.
