When Will Fear Street Part Two Release?

Based on a namesake book series by celebrated children’s author R. L. Stine, the ‘Fear Street’ trilogy is a slasher horror film series directed by Leigh Janiak (‘Honeymoon’). The story is set in the small town of Shadyside, where murders and deranged killers are so rampant that it has earned the moniker “Killer Capital of the USA.” The first film, titled ‘Fear Street Part 1: 1994,’ released on July 2, 2021.

It follows the Shadyside native Deena and her friends as they take on a 350-year-old curse, resurrected killers from their town’s history, and a powerful witch bent on revenge. If you are wondering about the release date and other details of the second film in the trilogy, we have got you covered.

Fear Street Part Two: 1978 Release Date

‘Fear Street Part Two: 1978’ is set to premiere on July 9, 2021, on Netflix. The three films are being released a week apart from each other. The third entry in the trilogy, titled ‘Fear Street Part Three: 1666,’ is scheduled to release on July 16, 2021.

Fear Street Part Two: 1978 Cast: Who can be in it?

‘Fear Street Part 1: 1994’ stars Kiana Madeira as Deena, Olivia Welch as Sam, Ashley Zukerman as Sheriff Nick Goode, Benjamin Flores Jr. as Josh, Darrell Britt-Gibson as Martin, Julia Rehwald as Kate, Fred Hechinger as Simon, David W. Thompson as Ryan Torres, Gillian Jacobs as C. Berman, Maya Hawke as Heather, Emily Rudd as Cindy Berman, and Sadie Sink as Ziggy Berman.

The characters that Rehwald, Hechinger, Hawke, and Thompson portray in ‘Fear Street Part 1: 1994’ die in the course of the first film, but considering that ‘Fear Street Part Two: 1978’ is set to depict what happened 16 years before the events of the first film and the plot of the trilogy involves themes like witchcraft and resurrection, they might get to reprise their roles in the second film, along with the rest of the cast. New additions to the cast for ‘Fear Street Part Two: 1978’ include Ryan Simpkins as Alice, McCabe Slye as Tommy Slater, Ted Sutherland as younger Nick Goode, Chiara Aurelia as Sheila, Matthew Zuk as Mayor Will Goode, Michael Provost as Kurt, Marcelle LeBlanc as Becky, Brandon Spink as Young Will Goode, and Drew Scheid as Gary.

Fear Street Part Two: 1978 Plot: What can it be About?

In ‘Fear Street Part 1: 1994,’ Deena saves Sam from the killers by drowning her in an aquarium. After the killers disappear, Deena brings Sam back with adrenaline shots. However, by then, Kate and Simon are already dead. Deena later receives a call from C. Berman, who tells her it’s not over. The Witch then possesses Sam and makes her stab Deena, who eventually restraints the other girl with a telephone cord. The film ends as Deena and Josh visit Berman, who begins telling them what happened 16 years ago at Camp Nightwing.

Fear Street Part Two: 1978 will likely shift back and forth between 1994 and 1978. Cindy is most probably the Young C. Berman, the sole survivor of the Camp Nightwing murders. Martin, the man that Sam and Josh meet at the police station, might play a prominent role in the upcoming film. The economic disparity between Sunnyvale and Shadyside might be further explored, and a link between the Witch and Satanism might emerge, considering her death occurred in 1666.
