‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2’ released on September 27, 2013, in theatres across the United States. It opened to rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
Although, many still felt as though the first movie in the installment reigned supreme. Nonetheless, this quirky sci-fi comedy has won the hearts of many globally, and for this reason, a third installment would make sense. Although there is no news of such a project just yet, if it were to be greenlit, we can expect ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3’ to release sometime in 2023 or later.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3 Cast: Who can be in it?
In ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,’ Bill Hader is Flint Lockwood, the inventor who comes up with FLDSMDFR (Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator), a device that turns water into food. Flint is tasked with saving his town once again since the machine is active. Anna Faris lends her voice to Sam Sparks, a weather intern from New York City and the protagonist’s girlfriend.
Flint’s childhood friend, Chester V, who heads Live Corp, is also instrumental to the plot. Will Forte voices the character. Andy Samberg is “Chicken” Brent McHale, who used to bully Flint frequently. Neil Patrick Harris plays Steve, who is Flint’s pet vervet monkey. Although there are many more supporting characters, these are the ones who are likely to reprise their role in the third film.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3 Plot: What can it be About?
‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2’ follows Flint and his friends as they embark on a journey, yet again, to save his town from the food-animal hybrids created by his own invention – the FLDSMDFR. This comedy is a tale of bravery, friendship, curiosity, betrayal, and camaraderie. As far as the plot of the third film is concerned, the story can go in many different directions since the scope is quite broad.
However, the “save the town from travesty” story arc is prevalent in both films in the franchise, and so we think it is only fair that Flint and his friends will have to undertake a similar mission once again. However, this time around, there is a possibility that the filmmakers will either retire the FLDSMDFR entirely or use an even more advanced version of it. Plus, they could continue to play with the concept of altered ecosystems as well.
