Directed by Leigh Janiak (‘Honeymoon’), the ‘Fear Street’ trilogy is a group of slasher films that tell the story of a town named Shadyside, where murderers have been going on killing sprees for the last 350 years. It is revealed that this has happened because of a curse placed on the town and its residents in 1666. In contrast, the neighboring town of Sunnyvale is considered a utopia, where the rich and powerful reside.
The second film, ‘Fear Street Part Two: 1978,’ is set in Camp Nightwing in 1978. One of the characters that the audience is introduced to in the film is Sheila (Chiara Aurelia), the leader of the tormentors of Ziggy Berman (Sadie Sink). Here is what ultimately happens to her.
Did Sheila Die in Fear Street?
No, Sheila doesn’t die in ‘Fear Street Part Two: 1978.’ Camp Nightwing seems to be one of the few places where teenagers from Sunnyvale and Shadyside interact. They play games and take part in recreational activities such as capture the flags. The entire event is known as Color War, with Shadysiders wearing blue and Sunnyvalers wearing red. Sheila and her cohort are all from Sunnyvale. C. Berman (Gillian Jacobs) begins her account of what happened at Camp Nightwing with Ziggy being chased by Sheila and her friends. They accuse her of stealing Sheila’s money.
They manage to capture Ziggy and then tie her to the same tree where Sarah Fier was hanged in 1666. Wanting to punish the other girl for stealing a measly ten dollars, Sheila gets a cigarette lighter from Will Goode and starts burning Ziggy’s arm. Right then, the camp counselors Nick Goode (Ted Sutherland) and Kurt arrive and put a stop to it.
Despite what they have done, Sheila and her friends don’t suffer any consequences. But Ziggy decides to get the vengeance she wants by dumping blood-colored paint on Sheila. Nick, who has come to check in on Ziggy, offers his help. They lure Sheila to the outhouse by sending her a note and making her believe that it’s from Will, on whom Sheila evidently has a crush. When she goes inside the outhouse, Ziggy and Nick dump a bucketful of worms and bugs on her. They then jam the door with a screwdriver and go back, leaving Sheila trapped inside the outhouse with all the creepy-crawlies.
When Tommy (McCabe Slye) begins his murdering rampage, Ziggy suddenly remembers about Sheila. She rushes back to the outhouse to free the other girl from there. However, a very enraged Sheila attacks her. In the ensuing struggle, Ziggy knocks Sheila out and later tries to get her sister Cindy (Emily Rudd) and Alice (Ryan Simpkins) out of the witch’s circle underneath the ground with the help of Counselor Gary. Tommy arrives and decapitates Gary. He then chases after Ziggy, leaving Sheila behind, still unconscious but alive.
The curse exclusively affects the Shadysiders. During the massacre, Tommy doesn’t even kill one resident of Sunnyvale, despite having multiple opportunities to do so. The sole Sunnyvaler that suffers any serious injury during the night is Nick, but that only happens when he tries to save Ziggy by putting himself between her and Tommy’s ax. Sheila doesn’t appear in the film after the outhouse scene. She is most likely still unconscious when the bus leaves. When the police come, they probably find her, unharmed and with no knowledge whatsoever about the massacre.
