Season 2 of ‘Gangs of Galicia’ brings a lot of unexpected changes into the criminal underworld of Cambados. A rival gang, headed by Jose Padin’s friend, Paco, has risen in collaboration with Macario. Although they manage to establish their rule in the town, partly thanks to Ana, they also see a meteoric fall after the latter’s arrest throws them both under the bus. Meanwhile, Daniel’s complicated relationship with his family’s legacy worsens when he has to choose between betraying his father to be with Ana and their child or facing down the barrel of a prison sentence.
As Daniel makes his decision, it once again sends him and Ana down two very different paths. Naturally, fans are bound to grow intrigued by where these separate paths take the protagonists and if they’ll ever rejoin each other’s orbit. Unfortunately, no official confirmation has yet been made about the show’s continuation. Even so, if a renewal comes soon enough, the show might return with a season 3 sometime in 2028.
Gangs of Galicia Season 3 Will Test Daniel’s Loyalty to His Family
At the end of ‘Gangs of Galicia’ season 2, Daniel was presented with a choice that would forever change his life for the better or worse. Throughout the season, we see the protagonist struggle with the reality of being the heir to the Padin crime family. He remains optimistic about the possibility of leaving the life of crime behind to live a civilian’s life. However, despite his resolve, circumstances continue to bring him back into the fold of his father’s illicit dealings. Yet, in the end, when he ends up back in custody, it’s a problem of his own making. Even so, he gets a second chance when Ana manages to cut a deal with the authorities.

As a part of her deal, Ana, her daughter, and Daniel would be permitted into the witness protection program, allowed to start a new life together as a family. However, on the flipside, Daniel would also have to sign an agreement and testify against the Padin crime family. This means that he would have to directly betray his own family and friends in order to earn his own freedom. Ultimately, Daniel rejects the offer, giving up the chance at a life with Ana and Sara. Consequently, a potential season 3 will find Daniel in Cambados, where he would likely be forced to pick up the pieces of his father’s crumbling empire. Since his opinions on the work haven’t changed, but his circumstances have, we can expect to see the Padin heir struggle with the reality of heading a crime organization in the next season.
Gangs of Galicia Season 3 Might Say Goodbye to Crucial Cast Members
‘Gangs of Galicia’ season 2 concludes on an ambiguous note that leaves the fates of many characters up in the air. This is most notably true for Jose Maria Padin, the head of the central crime family, who becomes a victim in an assassination plot. As the season ends, his survival remains uncertain. Therefore, it’s highly possible that Miguel de Lira, who plays Padin, might take his departure from the series in a potential season 3. Furthermore, Ana, the deuteragonist, also embarks on a journey that might spell out the end of her involvement with the Combados crime world. Therefore, depending on the direction the series continues, Clara Lago’s return also remains uncertain.

On the other hand, given the open-ended conclusion to Daniel’s storyline, it’s fair to assume lead actor Tamar Novas will reprise his role in a future season 3. Likewise, characters closely related to Daniel, including Nilo (Xosé A. Touriñán), Marco (Nuno Gallego), Tono (Chechu Salgado), and Samuel (Diego Anido), can be expected to make a comeback. Moreover, the show’s focus on the town of Cambados and its community can also mean the return of a few key characters. This includes Laura (Melania Cruz), Berta (María Pujalte), and Detective Torres. Lastly, as a potential new season introduces new storylines, the show can also be expected to welcome new cast members in the mix.
Gangs of Galicia Season 3 Will Determine Padin’s Future
Since season 2 of ‘Gangs of Galicia’ ends on a cliffhanger with Jose Maria Padin’s critical condition, season 3 can be expected to deal mainly with the aftermath of this game-changing incident. Padin’s possibly fatal medical diagnosis has been pushing him to consider the future of his organization for some time now. Although he wants to leave his business to his son, Daniel pulls away from his father significantly in season 2. As a result, the patriarch considers the idea of making Nilo, Daniel’s best friend and cousin, his next successor. However, with the recent developments, Daniel’s future remains entirely uncertain.

Therefore, there’s a real chance that Padin’s son might rise to the occasion and take over the family business. This can be a potential storyline to explore regardless of the outcome of Padin’s surgery. The crime family, previously held in high regard across Cambados, has faced many setbacks in recent years. Furthermore, Macario’s arrest promises to have a direct impact on the way the organization runs its business. For the same reason, season 3 will have to directly deal with the possibility of Daniel rebuilding his father’s empire from the ground up. In doing so, he would either step into his own or realize he’s simply not cut out for this line of work.
