On earth, Ryoma Takebayashi was a lonely and miserable salaryman who died in his sleep. After his death, he meets the gods Gain, Lulutia, and Kufo, who offer him a deal: he will be reborn in a new world if he agrees to serve as the magical conduit between earth and this new world. Ryoma accepts the terms. He is subsequently sent to the new world as an 8-year-old child. In the course of the next three years, Ryoma learns how to use his abilities. By the time he meets Reinhart, he has become an expert magic-user and gained control over hundreds of slimes.
In episode 10, Ryoma and Ellaria go to the mines so he can make waterproof cloth for the seasonal Quell Frog hunt for the merchant guild and she can hone her skills with the violin. He later creates stone figures of all members of Ellaria’s family and of himself and gives them to Ellaria. He learns that his business is doing really well and lets his employees have a holiday break.
