The football show ‘Ted Lasso’ centers upon the optimistic eponymous American football coach who gets thrown into the deep end of English football when he’s hired to coach the English professional football (soccer) team AFC Richmond. Ted’s hilariously optimistic fish-out-of-water character takes it all in stride. Despite being absolutely clueless about the rules and culture of English football, Ted shows everyone that he can be equally effective in a sports stadium, irrespective of which continent he’s on.
The sports show centers around the football team, and we get to see their exhilarating victories and heartbreaking losses as they take on teams at different stadiums. Much of the show’s heartfelt moments occur in the locker room, which becomes a de facto inner sanctum for the players to confront their issues. The follow-up season sees the team beginning to spread its wings and play even more matches at various stadiums. Are you wondering where ‘Ted Lasso’ season 2 was filmed? You’ve come to the right place!
Ted Lasso Season 2 Filming Locations
‘Ted Lasso,’ which follows an American coach as he navigates the complexities of English football, is filmed entirely in England for the sake of authenticity. The production crew returned to the country for filming season 2, which kicked off (no pun intended) in January 2021 and wrapped up on June 4, 2021. Let’s take a closer look at the show’s specific filming locations.

London, England
‘Ted Lasso’ finds the titular character moving to London, where he continues to live during season 2. Many of the same locations as the first season were used to film the second season, including the Selhurst Park Stadium with its characteristic red and blue stands that feature prominently on the show. The stadium, which is home to the Crystal Palace Football Club, is located on Whitehorse Lane in Selhurst, London, and hosted the production for the shooting of many of its outdoor scenes.
Filming also likely took place again at the SKYex Community Stadium, which hosts the Hayes & Yeading United Football Club. Located on Beaconsfield Road, Hayes in the West London Borough of Hillingdon, the sports arena most likely once again became the location for filming some of the show’s many fast-paced football sequences. Interior scenes for season 2 were shot extensively at the nearby West London Film Studios, also located in Hayes, Hillingdon.
Outdoor scenes of the London neighborhood Ted resides in and the surrounding areas where he often watches the locals play football were filmed around the Richmond Green recreational area in Richmond, a town in southwest London. Filming also took place outside a pub in the area, including the scenes featuring Sudeikis in a Santa hat.
Other Locations in England
The cast was also seen in the city of Liverpool in Merseyside in northwest England, where they most likely went to film scenes for one of AFC Richmond’s “away” matches. Liverpool’s home football club is one of the most famous sports teams in the world and has a rich history, making it a fitting place to shoot scenes from Ted Lasso’s dive into the world of English football.
