Sayak Basu
Writer
Sayak's love for cinema developed unknowingly as a child when he started watching Bruce Lee and James Bond flicks. His passion for the medium took him on a journey through world cinema. From the Italian neo-realism to the French and Romanian New Waves, from the stylized violence of Tarantino to the poignant pathos of Bergman, he enjoys each film for its own qualities and does not endorse anything as high or low art. After completing his Master's in English, he started working as a sports writer, only to soon realize films were his true calling. He joined Cinemaholic as a full-time writer in 2019. He believes he has finally found a place to voice his true love for the audio-visual medium.
