Social anxiety affects more people than most people think and the issue has been justifiably represented on the screen in several movies and television series. Some decide to show it as a comedic quirk while others principally focus on its effect on a character. Netflix’s ‘The Healing Powers of Dude’ is a comedy series with extensive focus on social anxiety disorder.
To begin with, the show is about a protagonist who suffers from social anxiety. It follows Noah Ferris, played by Jace Chapman, an eleven-year-old kid who is quite bright. However, because of his social anxiety disorder, he regularly feels lonely. His dog named Dude helps him through the rough patches in his life and provides emotional support to assist him in managing his disorder.
The show is based on the real-life experiences of its creators, Sam Littenberg-Weisberg and Erica Spates. It tackles how both, internal and external disabilities are judged by society.

The filming notices confirms that a few scenes of the show had been filmed in Lower Lonsdale area in North Vancouver. More specifically, the notice informs the public about filming near Bean Around the World Café at 506, Chesterfield Avenue.
Moreover, another twitter user also shared how he came across the crew of ‘The Healing Powers of Dude’ filming in Sutherland. A user suggested to the original poster by a comment on his post that the filming took place in Sutherland High School. However, that must be taken with a pinch of salt as this information is not currently verifiable.

Vancouver has been the filming location for numerous films and television shows. This is because the Canadian government offers some really lucrative tax credits for filming in the country. Hence, production costs reduce largely if a project is filmed in Canada as opposed to the United States.
