Scissor Seven Season 2: Release Date, Plot, Characters

Lately, Chinese anime producers have been churning some great anime shows; especially when it comes to the aesthetics and production value of these. However, most of these shows go unnoticed because they’re often overshadowed by mainstream Japanese anime. ‘Scissor Seven’ is another one of those Chinese anime shows which has been very well received by those who got the opportunity to watch it.

In an interview, John Derderian, director of content for Netflix, also claimed that “We were impressed by the production quality of Scissor Seven [originally titled Killer Seven], as well as its unique storytelling style, which we believe will resonate and be loved by our animation fans around the world. It’s worth noting that the series is the only Chinese-language title that received a nomination in the TV Film category at the 2018 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.”

So undoubtedly, if ‘Scissor Seven’ manages to connect well with a global audience, we might get to see a lot more of it in the future. Speaking of which, to know more about the prospects of the second season, read on further.

Scissor Seven Plot

‘Scissor Seven’ revolves around the adventures of  Wu Liuqi who is a  young not-so-dangerous assassin known for being the master of disguise. Since he isn’t the best at what he does, he only charges a nominal fee for carrying out his assassins. But since he’s not so good at his profession, things don’t usually go as planned and he often finds himself in the most ridiculously funny situations. For the most part, especially from the animation and storyline standpoint, the Netflix version is exactly the same as the original version. But some changes have been made to the dialogues of the characters to make it more suitable for an international audience.

According to the official synopsis on Netflix: “Seeking to recover his memory, a scissor-wielding, hairdressing, bungling quasi-assassin stumbles into a struggle for power among feuding factions.”
