How did Tamar Braxton earn her money and wealth?

Tamar Braxton, real name Tamar Estine Herbert, was born on 17 March 1977 in Maryland, US to Michael and Evelyn Braxton. Her father Michael was a pastor in the church. Tamar is the youngest among Braxtons’ six kids- five sisters and one brother. Since her childhood days, Tamar was passionate about music and started singing along with her siblings in the church choir.

Tamar Braxton is not only an American singer but is also an actress and a television personality. All the five Braxton sisters formed the R&B singing group ‘The Braxtons’ in the year 1989 and released their debut single ‘Good Life’ in the year 1990. The single did not get much of positive response and so, Atlanta Records canceled the contract with them. Later, one of the sisters, Toni, started her solo music career and left the group. The remaining sisters in the group then featured in the music video for the singer ‘Seven Whole Days’ by Toni. In the year 1996, the sisters made a comeback with a new music album called ‘So Many Ways’ which went on to rank 26 in the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums music chart.

In the year 1998, Tamar left ‘The Braxtons’ and signed a contract with Dreamworks Records. She released her debut solo album called ‘Ridiculous’ which features several musical styles. However, the album did not garner much of impact on urban radio outlets and so the Dreamworks Records decided to drop three old tracks and add new ones. Sadly, the news songs also failed to gain the impact after which the record label dropped Tamar from the roster.

Tamar released one of her unreleased songs ‘Try Me’ in the year 2001 as a soundtrack album for the movie ‘Kingdom Come.’ By the year 2004, Tamar had started to work on her second music album and released a single ‘I’m Leaving.’ In the year 2010, Tamar signed a deal with Universal Records and released the single ‘The Heart In Me.’ The same year, Tamar, her mother, and her sisters signed a deal for a reality series ‘Braxton Family Vibes’ which started in April 2011.

In the year 2012, Tamar signed a new deal with Streamline Records. When her music career was not doing well, she started trying in different fields. Tamar features in Front Row Couture collection as a model during the ‘ELLE/Style360’ NYC Fashion Week. The year 2014 was an eventful year for Tamar as she featured in the remix of single ‘For the Rest of My Life’ by Robin Thicke and released her new single ‘Let Me Know’ during the end of the year. Her single ‘If I Don’t Have You,’ released in May 2015, peaked at number 6 rank in the R&N Songs chart. Later in 2017, Tamar released the single titled ‘My Man’ from her upcoming 5th studio album.
