‘The Matrix‘ fans assemble! After waiting for almost a decade, the visually bedazzling cyberpunk drama that literally re-imagined the whole notion of reality has finally returned. After several speculations and rumors floating around on the internet, it is now confirmed that The Matrix 4 shooting has officially begun.
The first movie in the series was and still is considered to be the beginning of a visual genesis, however, its two sequels were later labeled as mere “cash grabs.” We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out whether this sequel will live up to the high standards set by the first film or not but till then, let’s just embrace the fact that it is finally in motion. With that said, here is everything we know about it so far.

The slow-motion “bullet-time” and other groundbreaking effects in the previous installments of the series are still considered to be revolutionary in every sense. So the new sequel will have to have to take its action and visuals to a whole new level. And from the looks of it, it seems like the creators of the film will not disappoint us. Check out the viral video below and take some time to appreciate how realistic the actions scenes of the film are going to be:

The Matrix 4 Cast: Who is in it?
Back when the third installment of ‘The Matrix’ franchise had first premiered, the Wachowskis had made it pretty clear that they had no interest in creating a new installment of the franchise. But then again in 2017, there were rumors that it is in production with Zak Penn (‘The Avengers‘, ‘Ready Player One‘) penning down its screenplay.
In August 2019, it was confirmed that Lana Wachowski was back with yet another sequel of the action franchise and will now be co-writing, directing, and producing ‘The Matrix 4’. Just like the previous installments, ‘The Matrix 4’ is again a joint production between Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures.
The film clearly has one star-studded ensemble which will not disappoint the fans of the series. Both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss have confirmed that they’ll be reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity respectively. Jade Pinkett Smith, who is known for playing the role of Niobe in the previous films, will also be returning in the fourth installment.
Apart from that, other leading characters of the film will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra, and Andrew Caldwell, who are all newcomers to the franchise.
The Matrix 4 Release Date: When will it premiere?
The film’s production began earlier this year in February 2020 and it has been scheduled to release on May 21, 2021.
