Adapted from the first novel of the eponymous four-book series written by Stefania S., Amazon Prime’s ‘Love Me Love Me’ is an English-language Italian romantic drama movie that centers on a teenager named June, who moves to Italy to start afresh after the tragic passing of her beloved brother. While attending Saint Mary’s, an elite international school in Milan, she begins dating Will, an ideal student. However, her comfort is disturbed by an unexpected rivalry with Will’s best friend, James, a charming yet troublesome MMA fighter.
Things get complicated when she finds herself attracted to James, putting her in a tough spot where she must choose between him and his friend, Will. Meanwhile, June also uncovers deep secrets and lies about her peers. Helmed by Roger Kumble, the film features impressive onscreen performances from Mia Jenkins, Pepe Barroso Silva, Luca Melucci, Andrea Guo, Michelangelo Vizzini, Madior Fall, and Vanessa Donghi. The romantic yet mysterious tale unfolds primarily in and around Italy’s school, Saint Mary’s, which hides multiple secrets underneath its grand facade.
Love Me Love Me Filming Locations
‘Love Me Love Me’ was filmed in its entirety in Italy, specifically in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital and Milan. According to reports, principal photography for the Amazon Prime production got underway in late February 2025 and wrapped up after more than a month or so in April of the same year. Since the film is set in Italy, it is only fitting that it was shot on location in order to add a layer of authenticity to the narrative.
Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Italy
A significant chunk of ‘Love Me Love Me’ was lensed across the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, which consists of the city of Rome and its surrounding areas. From what we can tell, the cast and crew members set up camp in various streets and neighborhoods across the region between March and April 2025, as they recorded multiple exterior scenes. The historic, patrician Villa Mondragone doubled as Saint Mary School, the elite Italian institution where June meets Will and James.
Located at Via Frascati, 51, in Monte Porzio Catone, just outside the city of Rome, the villa is nestled on a hill 416 meters above sea level. The production team took over the premises and transformed many of its spaces, from the garden to the interiors, to make it seem like the elite school it portrays. Apart from ‘Love Me Love Me,’ the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital has served as a prominent production location for many movies and TV shows over the years. Some of the notable ones include ‘The History of Sound,’ ‘The Map That Leads to You,’ ‘The Forbidden City,’ ‘The English Patient,’ ‘Normal People,’ and ‘Gossip Girl.’
Milan, Italy
In ‘Love Me Love Me,’ June relocates to the Italian city of Milan to start a new chapter in her life. Thus, for shooting purposes, the filming unit also traveled to the regional capital of Lombardy and taped pivotal sequences on location. In the establishing shots, you might be able to spot numerous landmarks and popular buildings, such as Porta Sempione, Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica of the Nativity of Saint Mary, the Sforza Castle, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and Milano Centrale.
