Cape Town, South Africa
The filming of the movie took place in the city of Cape Town, which lies in the Western Cape of South Africa. The movie was partly filmed on sets built on soundstages in Cape Town Film Studios, a studio complex located at Film City Boulevard, Dreamworld. The studio facility comprises five soundstages ranging between 12,910 square feet and 19,910 square feet in area. The complex also provides various exterior sets and workshops.
Aside from shooting on elaborate sets built at the studio, the cast and crew also filmed some portions of the movie on location in parts of the city. Some sequences were filmed at Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) located at Convention Square, 1 Lower Long Street. A few important scenes were also shot in and around Epping, an industrial area in Cape Town. The site is home to many companies in the textile, automotive, logistics, construction, and food processing sectors.
Scenes were also filmed in the vicinity of Bishopscourt, a wealthy and posh suburb of the city. The cast and crew visited Milnerton Flea Market, located at 126 Marine Drive, Paarden Eiland, to shoot some scenes.
Cape Town is the second most populated city in South Africa and is one of the oldest urban areas in the Western Cape. The city is a popular filming destination, and big-budget projects such as ‘Outlander,’ ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’ and ‘Raised by Wolves‘ have also been filmed here.
The cast and crew likely stayed at Waterfront Village, a luxury apartment hotel, and visited local attractions, including Clifton Beach and Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, during their free time.
Budapest, Hungary
Some portions of the film were later shot in the Hungarian capital city of Budapest. Filming took place at Origo Studios, a film and television production studio in Budapest. The studio complex houses 9 soundstages and offers several other production facilities as well.
