Anime is famous for creating colorful characters. I am not just talking about their personalities but also their physical appearances. Anime characters are unique in the animated world for their unusual appearances. Think of ten favorite characters from anime. Done? Now, try to remember how many of them have really different hairstyles. Ichigo has orange hair, Naruto has yellow, Goku has spiky hair et cetera and et cetera. Today’s list is going to be all about top anime girls with purple colored hair. In time I will be doing more of the similar list with different hair colors. So, let’s jump into it.
12. Frederica Bernkastel, Umineko: When They Cry
Let’s start the list with the cruel witch, Frederica Bernkastel. She might be sweet looking but she herself claims that she is the cruelest witch of all. Her another name is Witch of Miracles. She observes the game laid by Beatrice just to pass her time and keep herself from getting bored. She wants to defeat Beatrice and doesn’t like people being tortured by her game. Thus, she is at times inclined to help the players. She has the power to reset the situation as long as there is a slight chance of a favorable outcome. She has a seemingly normal hairstyle with purple color.

11. Haqua du Lot Herminium, Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai
Up next is the District Chief of Area 32 in Nagumo City Haqua du Lot Herminium from the anime series ‘Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai’. Though she is not among the best from the Runaway Spirit Squad, she used to be counted among the intelligent when she was in the grad school and was a valedictorian. She is quite close to Elise and is her best friend. Her appearance is quite colorful and has purple hair. She also wears a skull-like ornament on the top of her head. Though Haqua has a soft spot for her friends she is quite harsh on herself. She tries to hide her faults to maintain a status.

10. Dokuro Mitsukai, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan
I did watch a few episodes of the anime series ‘Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan’. It is enjoyable at times but is an easily forgettable anime. But one of the main characters is the female angelic assassin Dokuro Mitsukai who has purple hair. That’s why I included her on this list. You can watch the anime though if you want to just pass some time but you would have to belong to a specific niche to enjoy it. Coming to Dokuro, she is sent from the future to kill Sakura Kusakabe from stopping him to invent a sinister weapon in the future. But she goes about carrying her task in a different way.

9. Nana, Elfen Lied
‘Elfen Lied’ is a horror anime series and is quite enjoyable. The protagonist Lucy is a Diclonius, a special human with visible horns protruding from the head and special telekinetic hands. This made the government conduct cruel research on her, but one day she escaped killing everyone on the facility. But due to an injury she now at times has a personality of a child. But the character we are talking about is that of Nana, a six-year-old girl (I got a bit carried away). She is a Diclonius too but after a fierce battle with Lucy, her arms were torn apart. Having been shown kindness to by Kurama, Nana isn’t as sadistic and homicidal as rest of her kind.

8. Kuranosuke Koibuchi, Kuragehime (2010):
I am included Kuranosuke from the anime ‘Kuragehime’ only because I recently did a list on anime Traps and his character is still fresh in my mind. Yup, I said ‘His’ and not ‘Her’ since Kuranosuke is a cross-dresser. But what makes him enter this compilation of 12 Best Anime Girls with Purple Hair? Well, the fact is, even though he is a boy his fashion sense is quite unique and stylish making him one of the most stylish women on the list. Though his real hair is brown, when Kuranosuke cross-dresses as Kurako, he wears purple hair. This makes him fit the list perfectly.

7. Yuuko Kanoe, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia
Let’s jump into a character from the spooky ghost genre anime ‘Tasogare Otome x Amnesia’. Yuuko Kanoe is one of the main protagonists of the anime series. Her life is tragic as she was left to die in the basement of her school, Seikyou Private Academy. Currently, she has no recollection of her death and wants to uncover the truth. This makes her cling to a freshman Teiichi Niiya, making her visible to him. Yuuko is also visible to a blood relative of hers Kirie Kanoe. Yuuko has the appearance of a beautiful girl and has purple colored hair.

6. Faye Valentine, Cowboy Bebop (1998):
Let’s now turn the sexy up by few notches. It’s Faye Valentine from one of the best space adventure anime ever, ‘Cowboy Bebop’. When I started compiling this list, Faye was one of the first characters to come in mind, not just because of her voluptuous body and sexy outfit (They did help a lot though) but because ended up becoming a valuable member of the Team Bebop and her past turned out to be interesting too. Faye is a trickster and robs people. She has amnesia and thus has no recollection of her past. She has recently been awakened from 54 years of Cryogenic sleep. After a few encounters with Spike, she ends up staying with him and his partner Jet.

5. Yuri Nakamura, Angel Beats!
Do you believe in the afterlife? Do you think that if you are good you will get to go on a cruise with God or end up being tortured with Satan if you are evil? Whatever your beliefs are, I doubt you have ever thought of the afterlife in the same light as the anime ‘Angel Beats!’. Yuri Nakamura is one of the main characters of this anime series. She is the leader of Shinda Sekai Sensen a group which has only one agenda, fight against Tenshi. She helps Otonashi get used to the fact that he is dead and in the afterlife he has to join the battle against Tenshi who is evil. Though she is 17 she looks a lot younger.

4. Minene Uryuu, Mirai Nikki
Next is the badass and evil terrorist bomber Minene Uryuu from the anime ‘Mirai Nikki’. The show deals with the life of participants in a contest conducted by the God of Time and Space, Deus Ex Machina. The prize of the competition is that the winner gets to become the next Deus. Every contestant has a diary that is able to predict the future. Minene is one such contender in the competition and holds one of the best diaries. This diary often helps her in planning a successful escape route in critical situations. Minene is an atheist to the point where she wants to destroy religious organizations.

3. Sergeant Motoko Kusanagi, Ghost in the Shell
Up next is the sexy and badass female and the main protagonist of the sci-fi/action anime series ‘Ghost in the Shell’, Sergeant Motoko Kusanagi. She is one of the sexiest leads in all of the anime and has a commanding presence on the screen. Her on-mission and off mission persona are quite different. While on a mission she is quite serious and often at times ventures into investigating alone. Her entire body is made from the best robotic technology available on the market and has been such since her childhood following an accident. Motoko is quite adept at combat too taking care of much bigger opponents.

2. Saeko Busujima, Highschool of The Dead
If you like to watch zombie themed anime and are looking for some ecchi stuff mixed in, then go for ‘Highschool of the dead’. The series focuses on a society which has fallen into chaos following the outbreak of the undead. The series focuses on a group of students who must survive in the hostile atmosphere of their school and society. Saeko Busujima is one of the important characters in the series and has a high level of combat abilities being adept in Kendo. She is mostly calm and composed and is trusted by others. She is really pretty too.

1. Hitagi Senjougahara, Bakemonogatari
The last entry in this list is the female protagonist from the supernatural anime series ‘Bakemonogatari’. She is a pretty girl with a sharp tongue, often speaking in an abusive way. She became practically weightless (5 Kilos!) after an encounter with a mysterious crab. She threatens everyone who knows her secret and talks very little. She is helped by Araragi who tries to cure her supernatural problem. She later falls in love with him.
