10 Movies You Must Watch if You Love ‘Her’

5. Silver Linings Playbook

Silver linings playbook is a book adaptation that earned Jennifer Lawrence her second Oscar for best actress. The movie is an entry on this list due its portrayal of the complexity in human relationships. Two flawed people will make a fine couple. People with mental disorders or inefficiencies would still know to let go and love themselves. This keeps them going. Every cloud has a silver lining. Even miserable lives do. Silver linings playbook aims to indicate exactly that.

4. Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong

If your idea of a warm romantic movie, like mine, is two people walking amidst a great city in the night, with glittering lights in the background, along with a touch of skyscrapers setting their path alight, this movie is just the right one for you. 3. Ex Machina

Computers and humans! Why and how has that become a classic love genre? I know it hasn’t happened yet and won’t in the near future but why do writers and movie makers love this idea? Well, we love our share of sad movies. Sometimes nothing goes well for the people in a cinema and that’s okay because that’s how life is. In other cases this genre holds their fantasies. Whichever reason this love works for, Ex Machina holds good in all. This movie is closely related to Her but Ex machina boasts of the hot lady robot. The movie also does fine in the script zone with well rooted characters.

2. Blue is the Warmest Color

There is nothing I can say that hasn’t been said about this movie. It is a movie about love in its truest form. It doesn’t use adorations such as a pretty cast, cheesy lines, cute actions or even the usual issues a gay couple faces. It shows inner turmoil with no adulterations. The title is totally intriguing and is perfectly apt. Running time comes up to 3 hours and that is how you know this movie will be amazing.

1. In the Mood For Love

This movie is the second one of Wong Kar Wai on this list. This could be a slightly surprising movie on this list but it is nevertheless put here because it is a movie that showcases forbidden love or star-crossed love. I do not know if there is a more visually enticing movie ever made. It is a melancholic tale of a woman and a man who suspect their spouses of cheating on them. These two inevitably fall for each other. They are torn between not wanting to be like their spouses and wanting each other. It is one of the most beautiful romantic stories in cinema and is made to perfection. Every shot is so perfect that you get drunk with its beauty. The way each actor moves also adds to the story. The movie has very little spoken dialogue. The sound, movement, camera work, backdrops and even the lighting convey volumes. It is allegedly Wong Kar Wai’s magnum opus.
