Season 2 of ‘The Last Thing He Told Me’ finds a newfound camaraderie and collaboration between the Hall-Michaels-Bell family. In episode 7, titled Isia Moriendo Renascor, this becomes all the more evident as Bailey and Nicholas finally reunite with Hannah and Owen in Paris, where they plan to execute the last leg of their plan. After the play on Nicholas’ life leaves Bailey and Hannah’s safety all the more precarious, the Bell patriarch plans on taking matters into his own hands. He wants to use the recently unveiled information about Teddy and cut a deal directly with Frank. However, Hannah and Owen have a different plan, which relies less on the dubious loyalty of a crime boss and more on their ability to barter their freedom. However, as it turns out, one stray bullet is all it takes to topple both of these objectives. SPOILERS AHEAD!
The Campanos Gather in Paris
Teddy’s trip to France has proven to be an incredible nightmare after Owen manages to steal 5 million dollars in cash from his dubious portside shipping container. This has effectively put the young Campano heir in a dangerous situation with his new partner in crime, Perec, the leader of the international crime syndicate. Although Teddy tries to get a drop on Owen and Hannah, the duo manages to escape from Marseilles to Paris without being caught. Thus, with the deadline of the Perec meeting nearing, the young crime lord has been put in a tough spot. Even though he has been keeping these dealings a secret from his father, he isn’t entirely alone in his ventures. However, his confidante, Quinn, gives him the one piece of advice he doesn’t want to hear.

Teddy truly only has one possible solution to turn to: his father, Frank. Where neither he nor Quinn has the kind of cash needed to even out the scales to neutralize the immediate threat, the family patriarch and the original head of the criminal organization doesn’t have the same problem. More importantly, his years of experience in the game make it so he can clean up his son’s mess. Yet, it comes with the cost of staining Teddy’s reputation in the underworld circles. For the same reason, despite coming close to it multiple times, the latter ultimately fails to fess up to his mistakes to his father and tries to solve things on his own. Nonetheless, little does he know, Frank isn’t as oblivious as his son believes him to be.
Frank Puts Quinn in Charge, At Least For Now
Since her character introduction, Quinn has been presented in the story as something of a black sheep of the Campano family. For her, that means a strict distance maintained from her family’s more illegal business dealings. However, her recent close collaborations with Teddy bring this aspect of her character into question. Her claims of staying uninvolved in the Campano family business become even thinner when she ends up going to Frank about Teddy’s latest mess-up. In response to the news, Frank asks Wuinn to step into a more entangled role in the family. Although she protests a little, claiming that she never wanted to get embroiled in Frank’s business, she ends up stepping nicely into the role.

By then, Hannah and Owen manage to lure Teddy away from Frank and his entourage by sending him texts to make them look like they’re from Perec. This brings him into town, to a watch store, where both parties bide their time. The couple is waiting to get Teddy alone so that they can confront him with their proposed deal. Hannah wants to use the stolen 5 million dollars as a bargaining chip to shake Teddy off her family’s back. Nonetheless, unfortunately for her, the plan ends up falling through when Quinn shows up. Initially, she only tracks her brother down to tell him that Frank and she have taken care of the Perec situation. As such, when she learns the crime boss has apparently been texting her brother, she gets suspicious. Thus, it doesn’t take long for her to spot Hannah nearby, blowing up her cover.
Nicholas Goes Forward With His Risky Plan
When Nicholas makes the decision to arrive in Paris with Bailey, he has a particular plan in mind. Over the past couple of days, his relationship with Frank Campano has been tested as Charlie held him in the highest suspicion regarding the assassination attempt on the defense lawyer’s life. Eventually, thanks to Hannah’s plan, they’re able to assess that Frank had nothing to do with the play on Nicholas’ life. However, his son, Teddy, might not be so innocent. Shortly afterward, Bailey uncovers evidence that suggests her mother was collaborating with a state prosecutor to possibly cut a deal for her father’s safety by trading away the Campanos.

In light of recent discoveries about Teddy’s tendency to go rogue, Nicholas begins to wonder if the younger Campano could possibly have something to do with Kate’s death. For the same reason, instead of beating around the bush, he wants to take the conversation to Frank. Over the years, the two older men have been through thick and thin. For better or for worse, the defense attorney sold out his morals to hold on to Frank’s friendship and his favor, possibly putting his family at risk in the process. Therefore, he now feels a deep sense of responsibility in digging his son-in-law and his family out of the mess with the Campanos. Thus, in the end, he decides to go out to meet Frank all alone and incite an open and honest conversation with him about his suspicions about Teddy.
A Hired Hand Arrives at Hotel Lumineaux For Teddy
Initially, Frank isn’t happy to hear what Nicholas has to say about Teddy’s rebellion and his attempts at overtaking the Campano family business. Yet, he can’t deny the truth behind his words. His son’s decision to work with the international crime syndicate behind his back alone proves his reckless and defiant tendencies. As such, when his oldest and closest friend appeals to his sensibilities, Frank decides to listen. Meanwhile, Bailey arrives at the Hotel Lumineaux in search of her grandfather around the same time as Teddy. As such, she recognizes the situation’s potential for disaster since the other man still believes Nicholas to be dead. This compels her to send an emergency text to Hannah.

In the end, a big confrontation unravels between the various characters at the Hotel. Frank finally puts his foot down with Teddy, telling him that he can no longer sit at the helm of the family’s empire due to his inability to handle it. The son is frustrated that his father would side with his lawyer over his own family. Moreover, when confronted with the accusations, he steadfastly denies any involvement in Kate’s murder. However, before any real resolution can be reached, a woman arrives, looking for Teddy. As she empties her gun at him, Frank jumps in front of his son, taking the bullets for him. In the end, Frank dies, leaving the future of the Campnos and their feud against Owen uncertain.
