However, there’s always a possibility that a new case will end up on Thomas’ desk that would require another team-up. Notably, any future partnerships between the two would come with their own set of complications. Alfred’s last involvement in his son’s police work put the duo in many precarious situations, given the retired cop’s tarnished reputation. Thus, every time Thomas consulted his father and exposed him to sensitive information from the investigation, he had to bend a few rules. Therefore, if the show chooses to expand its universe and continue following Thomas’ narrative, all of these characters will likely make a comeback. Off-the-bat, the central crime-solving trio from season 1, Thomas Berg (Jakob Oftebro), Alfred Berg (Peter Andersson), and Natalie Eklund (Electra Hallman), can be expected to remain at the narrative nucleus of a potential season 2.
Additionally, the characters retain strong emotional, familial, and professional connections to these individuals, who might also return. As such, actors like Lisette T. Pagler (Charlotte Berg), Alva Peedu Järmén (Bonnie Berg), Anders Mossling (Lucas Lind), and Irina Björklund (Rebecca Björklund) are most likely to reprise their roles. On the other hand, the show will probably include new faces for the more antagonistic roles as the narrative ventures into a new crime and a new mystery in season 2.
