12. Miss Potter (2006)
Renee Zellweger dons her British accent as Beatrix Potter and reunites with her ‘Down with Love’ co-star Ewan McGregor, who plays Beatrix’s publisher and star-crossed lover, Norman Warne. The film mostly narrates Beatrix Potter’s main story. Renee Zellweger owns this role. Her interpretation, look and acting of Beatrix Potter, is nothing less than spectacular. ‘Miss Potter’ is a film that is beautiful to watch, is heartwarming, and shows how a minimal storyline can give an inside picture of the life of a famous person.
11. My One and Only (2009)
‘My One and Only’ gives you a sense of how difficult it was for women to be independent in those days. There weren’t many eligible lifestyle options for women. The most common one was to get married and be a housewife. When that failed, all hell broke loose. This movie shows how good Renee Zellweger is. She’s given a couple of great lines and a fascinating character, and she owns it. Even the people who don’t like the movie will agree.
10. One True Thing (1998)
Renee Zellweger gives a great performance as the ambitious magazine writer torn between her desire to advance her career, and her father’s need for her to care for her mother as her death approaches. William Hurt does a great job playing the self-absorbed academic who tries to keep his life going as smoothly as when his wife as well. ‘One True Thing’ offers a very real portrayal of the forces and dynamics that shape the relationships of a family and community during a time of hardship.
9. Chicago (2002)
‘Chicago’ is musical drama. Few of the noticeable points are the well-selected music and beautifully composed dance. In spite of being a movie, there is more than enough glitz and glamour, like a live show. Moreover, Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones are so beautiful and perform well. They make the film exciting with their sexy portrayals of their respective characters. The storyline is simple but dance and music prevent you from getting bored, thus making it a good watch.

8. Appaloosa (2008)
The main subject in Appaloosa, besides the classical struggle between good and evil, is trust and betrayal in human relations. There are of course good guys and girls and the bad ones, but in this story, none of the characters really seem to be either, except for one or two perhaps. So in the end, the only good guy gets to put an end to whatever is wrong or evil. If there’s a moral, that’s all there is to it. Renee Zellweger is good as Ms. French, despite many feeling that her romance with male lead looks forced.
7. Bridget Jone’s Diary (2001)
The film is probably one of the most iconic, so-called “chick flicks” of all time. ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ is very entertaining, often hilarious, and also rather cute. Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant, and Colin Firth all deliver great performances. Colin Firth steals the show. Surprisingly, there is sexuality too. The only very brief sex scene does provide the necessary shock value for the plot. Overall, the film is a great watch, but preferably for people past their teens.

6. Cold Mountain (2003)
One of the most famous elements of ‘Cold Mountain’, besides the very graphic sex scenes and Nicole Kidman’s nudity, is the make-up Oscar it won for Renee Zellweger. The movie’s a very heavy drama. It’s pretty upsetting at times and is likely to leave you unsettled. I think that the ending of the movie is fitting. The Civil War left no victors, and that had to include Inman and Ada, the lead characters. ‘Cold Mountain’ is, in my opinion, an excellent film that shows the brutalities of the Civil War.

5. Nurse Betty (2000)
‘Nurse Betty’ starts out innocently enough with a lonely housewife, played by Renee Zellweger who lives for the soaps on TV. Then she sees her abusive husband brutally murdered. She forgets it completely and finds a new life for herself. She’s so sweet and helpless, you empathize with her, you want her life to come out good, but guess what it does. Morgan Freeman is exceptional in his role as the bad guy who falls in love with her. That’s enough for now, and be ready for a surprise ending.

4. White Oleander (2002)
A teenage girl is dragged through a series of foster homes and orphanages after her mother is jailed for murder. It sounds like a pretty turgid scenario but turns out to be a totally engrossing movie. Allison Lohman is superb as Astrid, capturing the character’s chameleon-like personality perfectly. She is able to imbue the part with both the fragility and resilience necessary to make the story work. There are excellent performances all round from the other cast members too, especially Michelle Pfeiffer and Renee Zelwegger.
3. Dazed and Confused (1993)
‘Dazed and Confused’ is definitely a story and character-driven film, so if you like those types of films you will almost certainly enjoy the film. But if you don’t like those types of films, then you may or may not enjoy this one. But even though the film has its flaws, overall the pros do out way the cons. And even though ‘Dazed and Confused’ is not Richard Linklater’s best film, it is fun and entertaining and a must-see for fans of him.

2. Cinderella Man (2005)
The title has a typical romance movie ring to it, but it’s not. ‘Cinderella Man’, played by Russell Crowe, is a story about the real-life boxer James Braddock, and how he made his way from living in the poor neighborhoods with his kids and wife Mae Braddock, played by Rene Zellweger, to being a famous boxer who has become an inspiration all over the world. The movie has done an excellent job of portraying feelings and emotions.

1. Jerry Maguire (1996)
‘Jerry Maguire’ is a great movie with well-written characters and a brilliant storyline. Tom Cruise plays Jerry Maguire who desperately wants it as a sports agent, spending most of his time working on his thesis. The film is funny, touching, and downright beautiful. t. The movie is aesthetically shot, and as I said before, the story is just perfect. The music is well done too. The cast is perfect. Cuba Gooding Jr.gives an excellent performance but Renee Zellweger is the one who steals the show.
