It is also the primary filming location of the parent show’s first season, titled ‘American Horror Story: Murder House,’ resulting in the house being dubbed “Murder House” by fans of the show. The house was decorated with Haloween-themed props for the filming of an episode. It is also possible that some scenes for the show are shot on soundstages, most likely located in Burbank.
The Los Angeles Christian Presbyterian Church, located at 2241 North Eastern Avenue, is one of the locations visited by the cast and crew to shoot some scenes. Filming has also taken place at Katsuya Hollywood, a popular Japanese restaurant situated at 6300 Hollywood Boulevard, not far from Hollywood Walk of Fame. The production crew likely also filmed some portions at the now-abandoned Old Los Angeles Zoo (also known as Griffith Park Zoo).
Cerritos, California
Filming of the show also takes place in parts of the greater Los Angeles County. Some portions of the first season were filmed in the vicinity of Los Cerritos Center, a popular shopping center located in Cerritos, a city situated in the southeastern part of the county. A Christmas-themed episode featuring Danny Trejo as Santa was filmed at the shopping center.
Big Bear Lake, California
Big Bear Lake is a town in San Bernardino County located on the shore of the namesake lake. The cast and crew also filmed some scenes in the city. Big Bear Lake offers an abundance of natural vegetation, and an important sequence was shot in the woods surrounding the town.
