1. One Piece (1999)
Let’s start with a famous one. ‘One Piece’ is currently one of the most popular shounen anime and is rightly so. It is mixed with adventure, action, and fun. The plot of the show deals with pirates. The main character is Monkey D. Luffy who aspires to become the pirate king and rule the sea. But he and his crew do not have malice like other pirates. They rather tread on the hero side of things. Monkey and his crew have set their destination to Grand Line to get the treasure One Piece. The show is entertaining and keeps the viewers interested.

3. Princess Mononoke (1997)
‘Princess Mononoke’ is one of Ghibli’s fine adventure-dramas that might as well be referred to as an epic. Following a more serious route than many of Miyazaki’s other films, it focuses on the events preceding the happening of a colossal war between a mining colony and the Gods of the forest. Following some of the most fascinating (and mysterious) characters in the Ghibli universe, the story they’re put into is as involving as it is entertaining. Additionally, ‘Mononoke’ is one of the few animated films from the late ’90s to fully utilize cel animation and wonderfully capture its essence on the screen. The final product here is gorgeous, and one of the studio’s best-looking films ever. This picture presents us with a unique experience from Miyazaki’s side: one that is exhilarating, troubling, and awe-inspiring. I do think that the final act drags on for a while though.

4. Porco Rosso (1992)
This is an underrated Miyazaki classic that I believe more people should see. Without a doubt one of the best anime ever, ‘Porco Rosso’ follows an inventive war story, wherein a fighter-pilot named Porco (who just so happens to look like an anthropomorphic pig) deals with the hardships that come along with the Second World War while travelling across exquisitely crafted backgrounds. It can incorporate both comedic as well as dramatic elements into its story so well that it feels like a natural blend. I’ve seen ‘Porco Rosso’ two times now, and I think I’ll only keep liking it more with every additional viewing. Unlike the vast majority of Studio Ghibli films, this one has a story that I find adults will have a better time with than kids. It is the sort of film that makes you feel all warm and good inside, and it is an unforgettable experience.

5. One-Punch Man (2015)
Next on the list is an anime which took the anime genre by storm. In my opinion, it is one of the best anime ever made in the superhero genre. The show’s concept and characters make it much more interesting to watch. What makes ‘One-Punch Man’ funnier is its sarcastic view of the superhero world. Here we see a guy named Saitama who just by doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and 10 kilometres run every day can amass such a huge power that he can defeat any adversary with just one punch. This makes him annoyed since he cannot get any formidable foe. The series is comedic and entertaining.

If you don’t want spoilers then you have to see the rest. All I can say is that the anime is amazing in terms of viewing aspect. The action is nice and the flow of the story is different. Enjoy!

I completed watching this series a month ago and let me tell you this that it is a great sports genre anime. But don’t worry if you are not into sports. He and his friends keep on training to keep winning matches. The matches are great and create such a tension you will be glued to the screen until the end. You will surely enjoy this series.

14. Mushishi (2005)
I included ‘Mushishi’ on the list because I am sure many of you have not heard of this anime. Before going into the plot let me just say this. The plot is kind of hard to explain. The plot is centred around a man named Ginko who is a Mushishi. The Mushishi are people who investigate phenomenon related to Mushi. What is Mushi? Well, in the anime Mushi are a different type of life form which doesn’t have an existence of their own. They are like parasites and use human hosts to exist.
