Fast & Furious 10 Release Date
‘F9’ was released by Universal Pictures on June 25, 2021, in the US, following an international release on May 19, 2021. Fans of the car racing/ spy thriller franchise had to wait longer than expected for the ninth installment as the film’s release was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other reasons multiple times.
As for a milestone tenth installment, ‘F10’ has already been officially announced. Lead star and producer Vin Diesel said in an interview in 2020 that planning of the tenth installment had begun even before ‘F9’ started production. It has also been reported the franchise would be ending with a two-part finale making ‘F10’ the penultimate entry in the franchise’s main series of films. According to several reports, director Justin Lin who has directed five films in the franchise, will be returning to helm the final two films.
‘F10’ was originally supposed to race onto our screens on June 25, 2021, before the Covid-19 pandemic drastically affected those plans, and the movie’s release had to be postponed. In a recent interview with ComicBook, Diesel gave fans an update about the status of the tenth film. “It is back-to-back. The target release date is 02/23 for the first one and 02/24 for the second one. We were supposed to release this movie last year, prior to the pandemic. So I guess what’s different about this release is that we’re a year into development and pre-production on Fast 10.” So there you have it! If everything rides smoothly, ‘F10’ should hit our screens in February 2023.
Fast & Furious 10 Cast: Who can be in it?
‘F9’ features an ensemble cast with the likes of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, and Nathalie Emmanuel reprising their roles from previous installments as Dominic Toretto, Letty Ortiz, Roman Pearce, Tej Parker, Mia Toretto, and Ramsey, respectively. Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron also return as Magdalene “Queenie” Shaw, Mr. Nobody, and Cipher. In addition, Sung Kang reprises his role as the fan-favorite Han Lue, and Jon Cena joins the franchise as Jakob Toretto, Dom’s brother.
The main cast is expected to return for ‘F10’ with the exception of John Cena, whose involvement is likely being kept under wraps for the time being. Additionally, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham could reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw from previous films. As the franchise is heading to a conclusion, fans are also demanding a return for Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar, who briefly appears in the ninth film through archived footage. Cardi B, who plays Leysa in ‘F9,’ has been confirmed to be returning for the sequel.
Fast & Furious 10 Plot: What can it be About?
In ‘F9,’ the villainous cyber-terrorist Cipher pits brother against brother by recruiting Jakob Toretto to do her dirty bidding. Dom is forced to confront the sins of his past and, with the help of his crew, stops Cipher’s plan from succeeding. In the end, Dom and Jakob reconcile.
Plot details about the tenth installment are scarce at the moment, but we expect the Toretto crew to take another globe-trotting mission. Cipher is still at large and definitely has connections in the criminal underworld that should help her spin out another plan with catastrophic consequences. Han still has a beef to pick with Deckard Shaw, and the plot thread is teased in the post-credits scene of ‘F9.’ It is possible that late actor Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Conner will somehow factor into the sequel, but remains highly unlikely.
