As a reality dating series wherein human connections are put to the ultimate test so as to uncover whether true love can blossom from emotionality alone, Netflix’s ‘Love is Blind’ is simply gripping. It thus comes as no surprise its international variations, including most recently ‘Love is Blind: Argentina,’ are absolutely no different as they conclude with weddings as well as a few sad break ups. In fact, this particular installment follows seven couples as they end up engaged sight unseen following the first pods phase, only for four to make it down the aisle and three to actually say, “I do!”
Emily and Santiago Tied the Knot Despite a Few Ups and Downs
While Emily Ceco and Santiago Martinez had connected over a dream and their past toxic relationships to build a strong foundation, things changed not long after they stepped into the real world. That’s because he was not only jealous but also temperamental, leading to several fights between them as the days passed – they had good times for sure, but they were marred with arguments that soon got blown out of proportion despite it not being their intention. However, in the end, the duo decided to marry as they understood their love was more than just a fantasy they had concocted and were thus more than ready to consistently evolve for one another.
Santiago later stated in the show, “(Being with Emi) made me start to have more empathy and to listen more actively,” to which Emily asserted, “Love is definitely blind.” Therefore, of course, they still appear to be happily married, all the while also prioritizing their careers these days so as to build a happy, stable life for their family. While the former is the owner-operator of a telecommunications company at the age of 30, his loving 24-year-old wife is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Communications/Journalism, all the while serving as a makeup artist, too.
Maria Emilia and Mauricio Couldn’t Make Things Work in the Long Run
Although María Emilia Melo and Mauricio Jorge Zappacosta’s standing as early 40-something-year-old single parents made them seem perfectly compatible from the get-go, that wasn’t the case. She actually appeared to be fighting for their relationship at every turn, yet he was constantly making comments on her appearance, her dressing sense, and how she technically wasn’t his type. This was actually to such an extent he ended up making her feel insecure for the very first time in her life, driving her to ultimately stand up for herself and unabashedly say no to him at the altar.
María Emilia specifically even stated she believed their union would be toxic if they did tie the knot, especially as they were both at such a point they couldn’t accept one another for exactly who they were. So, today, at the age of 41 and with an adult son leading his own life, this strong, independent woman is primarily focusing on being an Attorney as well as an Ontological Coach while still continuing her quest for true love. As for Mauricio, this 42-year-old Economics graduate is actually a proud fashion designer/consultant running his own brand by the name of Note Ego and a proud father of a little girl named Pia. He has since also managed to find love with a former participant named Erica.
Florfi and Tom Are Sadly No Longer Romantically Involved
From the moment Florfi Frers first encountered Tom Martorello in the pods, their chemistry was so insane that they knew they could be something really special if they chose to pursue it. Thankfully, they did, albeit following a few ups and downs owing to the latter’s connection with Florencia Fernandez too, only for them to gradually realize they were indeed a perfect fit. However, what neither of them expected was for Florfi to comprehend she wasn’t ready to get married because four weeks wasn’t nearly enough time for her to say yes, even though she did love him with all her heart.
As a result, Florfi and Tom decided to exit the experiment – yet they did assert they were still very interested in continuing to get to know one another in the real world, which they seemingly have. But alas, as time passed by, the distance and their busy schedules resulted in their connection fizzling out. They simply couldn’t keep their romance going despite wanting to make things work. As if that’s not enough, it also appears as if there is no chance of reconciliation between the 27-year-old personal trainer as well as lifetime coach and the 27-year-old DJ, producer, and publicist because he has since found love in someone else.
Julieta and Ezequiel Were Once the Epitome of a Healthy Couple
While it’s true that Julieta Fennema and Ezequiel Ingrassia didn’t have the most romantic beginnings owing to their bonding over their troubled families, they gradually did fall head over heels. However, upon returning to the real world, the latter was shocked to learn that while his love language was both physical touch as well as words of affirmation, his loving partner was actually not affectionate at all. This, along with their different styles of communication while in an argument, honestly caused a serious issue between the couple, yet they thankfully managed to talk it out in a calm manner.
Julieta and Ezequiel actually understood one another’s needs, resulting in them not only promising to adapt accordingly but also following up their pretty words with genuine actions. Therefore, of course, when it ultimately came time for them to make a decision at the altar, they both decided to promise forever too – they happily said, “I do,” with nothing but love in their hearts. Since then, though, instead of settling into a new chapter of their lives with open arms as well as open minds, these travel enthusiasts ended up parting ways. The 23-year-old cell phone technician and the 32-year-old entrepreneur with his own appliance repair company are still in touch as great friends, with the latter even stating he is open to reconciliation one day, but they are simply platonic as of writing.
Brenda and Matías Could Have Found Love in the Most Unexpected Way
While most individuals in this experiment found common ground with potential suitors on hobbies, lifestyle, family orientation, etc., Brenda Oviedo and Matías Moreno actually connected over grief. That’s because while this single mother of two had lost the man she believed to be her forever life partner, he had lost both his parents in quick succession, making them trauma bond. However, this same bond gradually turned to love, only for him to propose sight unseen and her to accept despite some trepidation about him being a native of Córdoba and how her sons might adjust to this new place.
But alas, when it came time for their face-to-face reveal, it was actually Matías who honestly told his partner he believed he had gotten carried away and needed some time to process. The couple, hence, backed out of the experiment for good, but since he had asserted he wanted to continue talking to her away from the cameras, she stated she was willing to give him a chance. Unfortunately, though, owing to the time and distance, these administration professionals could not make their relationship work in the long run; they did try their best to keep the spark alive but to no avail.
Evangelina and Roberto Are Currently Leading Entirely Different Lives
Since Evangelina Novo admittedly always dreamed about leaving city life behind for a quieter, more sustainable lifestyle, it was no surprise when she fell in love with rancher Roberto Marsicano. The fact he cared for his sister was also a massive deal to her, considering she herself is very family-oriented, and he seemed to adore the qualities she had, too, resulting in a proposal. However, the engaged duo ended up calling it quits towards the end of their getaway in Tulum, Mexico, as she felt she was making all the efforts, and he wasn’t even interested in getting to know her.
Evangelina and Roberto did manage to talk things out so as to be on amicable terms during their fellow cast members’ bachelor/bachelorette parties, but that’s the extent of their ties now. In other words, they have never rekindled their romance and currently lead entirely different lives in their respective hometowns, with her as an attorney as well as a digital creator and him as a full-time rancher. We should mention that while the latter prefers privacy as he is often surrounded by family, the former admittedly loves love, so her content revolves around the same, all the while having some humor sprinkled on top.
Florencia and José Luis Are Building a New Life Together
Last but definitely not least, we have the complexly beautiful relationship between Florencia Fernandez and José Luis Farina, which actually came into existence following the end of two love triangles. It’s, hence, no surprise they were initially worried they would be judged as people who rejoined the experiment following Tulum despite having gotten engaged on the last day of the pods so as to only get airtime. Yet, it soon became evident there were real emotions between them, especially considering their honesty towards one another as well as how he introduced her to his family on day one itself.
Florencia and José did have their fair share of issues too, revolving around her constant need for attention, her jealous spurts, as well as his overall behavior towards certain things, but they worked. So, of course, when the time came for them to walk down the aisle and make the decision that would change their lives forever, they chose to move forward together by happily tying the knot. Since then, it appears as if the couple has settled in Beiunos Aires with Florenica’s cats (to be close to José family), all the while continuing their respective careers as an aspiring actress as well as a public accountant and an event host.
