When it comes to discovering something like Doctor Who, the spin-offs are the surest elements to be covered, and what would be more adventurous than Sarah Jane’s journey here. The Sarah Jane Adventures, as the name says it all, is about the adventures of Sarah Jane Smith, played by Elisabeth Sladen, who is a young investigative journalist combating against alien invasion and other supernatural aspects. A movie called “The Golden Compass” was also made in 2007 and followed the same storyline; however, “His Dark Materials” is a detailed analysis and explanation of the trilogy by Philip Pullman. The first season of the His Dark Materials broadcast on HBO and received great reviews from the audience. 5. Primeval (2007-2011)
The only difference in Primeval and Doctor Who is of the scientists and the doctors. That’s it. The narrative of both shows bears many similarities. Like Doctor Who, Primeval is also an action-adventure drama series that follows the story where a team of scientists is after peculiar or, let’s say, never-seen-before creatures who entered through temporal anomalies across the UK. This suspenseful thriller drama series was created by Tim Haines and Adrian Hodges. The audience who liked watching Doctors and the team battling against evil will surely love to attend Professor Cutter’s unit too.

Another TV show on the list is a horror drama series of Netflix which is widely popular among younger audiences. And yes the name of chief character is “Eleven” played by Millie Bobby Brown. Now you know. It is none other than Stranger Things. The series starts with finding the missing friend from the group and now focuses on sending the monster named Demogorgon back to their world. If I have to summarize the story of Supernatural series in brief, I will say that it follows the narration where two brothers are on a ghost hunt. Supernatural is a fantasy horror TV series broadcasts on The WB. The show has a total of 15 seasons till now and I don’t see it ending there only. Unlike Doctor Who, this show has a bizarre approach to deal with supernatural or paranormal beings by the ghostbusters brothers Jared and Jensen. This show is a boon for those who love horror and suspense genre.

Sherlock Holmes is the most famous fictional detective character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The companionship of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson is still on everyone’s lips and the way they operate together to take down any culprit is exceptional. If you like watching detective stories, Sherlock is definitely your cup of tea.

The X Files has a total of 11 seasons and the last episode of the show broadcasted two years ago on Fox. Doctor Who and The X Files do not share similarities except they both are long run shows of earlier days in an investigative adventure genre.
